UCA-UT  Association Membership


Becoming a member of the Utah Captive Insurance Association is open to all Captive/RRG Insurance Companies and other Business Entities with an interest in supporting and promoting the Captive Insurance Industry in Utah.  Any business involved in the operation or development of a Captive Insurance Company in Utah should become a member of the Utah Captive Insurance Company and Service Provider Industry Association; I.e., the “Utah Captive Association”.

Persons or Businesses should join that are:

• Captive Insurance Companies
• RRG’s
• RPG’s
• Branch Captive Offices
• Redomesticated Captive
• Actuaries
• Claims Administrators
• Banking Institutions
• Investment Advisors
• Program Administrator
• Brokers and Producers
• Program Managers / MGA’s / MGU’s
• Attorney Firms
• Accounting CPA Firms
• Reinsurers
• Insurance Intermediaries
• Business Consultants
• Risk Manager for Self Insureds


Membership Available:

(1)
Captive/RRG Insurance Company Memberships; that are licensed in Utah, or that has a Branch office licensed in Utah, may serve on the Captive Association’s Board or on Committees;

(2) Captive/RRG Service Provider Member- ships;  including RPG Associations that purchase their insurance from a Captive or RRG.   Service Providers may serve on the Board or Committees;

(3) Associate Memberships;
are those that are not directly associated within the Captive Industry that have an interest in understanding more about the Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) Self-Insured Marketplace thru their activities and communications as a member.  No voting power or Board and Committee participation is available to Associate Members.

Membership Dues:

Unlike many state Captive Associations, Membership in the Utah Captive Association is intended to be economically available to anyone that would like to become involved.  Therefore, the dues will only be used for Basic costs, such as Website costs, phone service, and printing costs, etc..  Any meetings, Captive Association promotions, or Association marketing, will be supported by separate membership
contributions, paid by those that want to participate in the promotion, meeting, or marketing program.

Membership Benefits:

1. Information updates on Legislative and Insurance Department matters affecting Captives/RRG’s.

2. Communications regarding the Captive Industry activities relating to; Workers’ Compensation, (where many states are passing laws permitting Captives in the state to qualify as Workers’ Comp Insurers), Employee Benefits, D&O  Insurance, Excess Insurance, Aggregate  Stop-Loss Insurance,  Reinsurance,  Property Insurance,  Liability Insurance, etc.,.

3. Participation in any Utah Captive Association promotions and events.  A free Website listing as a member, available Website advertising, and other promotions for Utah as a Captive state.

4. Notice of all Utah State Captive activities; and,

5. Direct contact and recognition with the Utah Insurance Departments Captive
    Division Director.

The Utah Captive Association would like to become the VOICE, and the Business Development supporter, of the Captive Law in Utah.
