WELCOME Membership in the Captive Industry Association of Utah serves the important function of allowing dedicated Insurance professionals a collective voice with state and federal regulators, legislators, the NAIC, and Captive Insurance Company owners. As a member of the Utah Captive Association, individual Insurance Industry Service Providers will have an opportunity to reach potential Captive Owners and meet with regulators for the purpose of education, training, and service. Thru membership in the Utah Captive Association, the State of Utah will be able to have representation at Insurance Industry Conventions every year to tell the State of Utah’s Captive Industry story. The Utah Captive Law became effective July 1, 2003.   The Utah Legislation in 2004 has 17 new changes intended to make Utah’s law friendlier.  In January of 2004 the Utah Captive Association was formed with a commitment by the membership to tell and advertise the advantages and opportunities of organizing CAPTIVE Insurance Companies in the UTAH DOMICILE. The Utah Insurance Department has indicated a special interest in Risk Retention Groups authorized under the Federal Risk Retention Act of 1981/1986.
